Nabije hondenpoot: Compassievolle begeleiding voor dieren tijdens hun laatste levensfase en ondersteuning voor hun eigenaren.

Comfort care

While active euthanasia is frowned upon for humans in most countries, it is almost expected of a pet owner to have the sick, dying animal euthanized by the vet in order to relieve it of its suffering. Unfortunately, the animal is rarely asked whether it is ready to go and/or whether it wants spiritual guidance!

Not only humans but also animals need support during their last phase of life, dying: It is important for the dying to be able to let go of their life in this world. For this it is essential to assure the dying that he/she may leave, that one will find one’s way around without him/her in the future. It is also very important to speak out what has not been said: unresolved conflicts have to be resolved. Apologies and mutual forgiveness help the dying and those left behind on this difficult journey.

For me it is a particularly moving gift to be able to mediate between a dying animal and its human and to be able to answer open questions. Often the animals are very concerned about their grieving friends and have messages and advice for them. These messages are always very special and always leave a trace of the strong love between animals and humans.

Sequence of the conversation

Accompaniment for the dying is very emotional, with usually a lot of tears. Most pet owners ask for remote reading, but of course I also like to make house calls, not least for personal support – sometimes it’s just good to have someone around!

For remote reading, I need a photo of the animal, his/her name and age.

We will clarify your concerns and questions by phone or e-mail and after the meeting, depending on your preference, I will either send you a detailed protocol of the conversation by e-mail or I will call you on the phone.
